Means of production are
tools and raw materials. Mode of production is the use of technology and labor
organization in the process of production. It is also the methods used to
produce for the necessities of life. This is part of the physical and cultural
environment where by humans live and work. Forces of production are the
environment, technology and population pressure. For this to operate this is
closely tied to relations of production. This includes the working organization
of the labor process and property relations, i.e. social organization.

Culture is the sum total of all
shared knowledge, learned behavior, patterns of attitudes and perceptions of a
people.
Ideology is the openly
expressed system of beliefs of a people.
Politics is the use and
the distribution of power to implement policy and the struggle to influence
those decisions.
Means of production can
be expanded from being used by one worker in a workshop attached to a home to
many workers working in a mill or factory. By bringing many workers under the
control of a central command structure may increase efficiency. With the
inclusion of an external source of power in the operation of a complex of
machinery this is an important step in the establishment of the factory system
of production. Each worker becomes increasingly specialized and has less
control over the production process.
