American History
American History
The history I embrace is the history of protest in America. From slave rebellions and native resistance to white advancement. From the abolitionist and underground railroad (anti-slavery), to the civil rights movement following the Civil War. From Radical labor unions and strikes, to socialist and anarchist movements at the end of the 1800’s. In the early 1900’s the Socialist Party of America (SPUSA), the Industrial Works of the World, the Wobblies, American Communist during the Great Depression of the 1930’s. The presidential election of 1948, and the Progressive Party. The anti-segregation movements, like the civil rights movement and Black Power. The peace movements at any time in American history. The feminist movement, the environmental movement, the LGBTQ+ movements. Struggles against white supremacy and patriarchy, for Black Lives Matter, and anti-imperialism and democratic socialism. To liberal, conservatives and reactionary nationalists you have your America and I have mine. This is the life I have chosen, and it is worth living for.
