Historical Sociology

Historical Sociology

Sociologists apply and contrast the results of their studies of certain social events. Analyzed in their specifics, of what makes them in unique, within larger historical trends. Then these particular events are studied considering methods used by the Sociologist for comparative data and can be contrasted and compared to understand how change comes about and the various parts interact and effect each other.

Diachronic Anthropology or historical anthropology, “in Time” including the process of change and cultural evolution is centered around real societies that interact with their larger environment including other societies. This begins with the history of Anthropology. From early days as an adjunct of religion using Genesis as a point of reference 1500 to about 1700, enlightenment and evolution 1700 to early 1900’s.  Particularism with all societies being equally old, leading finally to advocacy.

Crisis of politics and economic torpidity and ethical failure is the new normal. Capitalism evolved from permanent crisis to crisis as an acceptable life style. We the working majority plummets speedily and aimlessly toward political, economic cultural and military disaster. The bankruptcy of ideas of many intellectuals about the obvious crisis of current events has become even more cynical lately. Many professional intellectuals offer legal political strategies that lead not to serious discussions of solutions but lamely predicting more of the same as if that was acceptable. Once again it is up to the dissidents in our all our disciplines in the social sciences, humanities and history to openly challenge the legitimacy both morally and intellectually of the conservative and liberal mainstream.
