Legitimacy

This agreed upon meaning between the people in a social setting leading to a jointly arranged association that are reciprocated and is based upon an understood set of values. Because of this a social organization has legitimacy, if the participation in this organization is seen as justifiable and compelling. This is true for both those defending the orthodoxy and the revolutionaries.
